The county explains that the previous day's roster is updated by 6 AM the following morning. If today is Wednesday, the current day file may not be ready yet, and the Tuesday report is the newest public list until Wednesday posts on Thursday morning.
That timing matters for Pierce County inmate records. A new arrest by the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, River Falls PD, Ellsworth PD, Prescott PD, or another agency may be in the jail before it appears in a public PDF. Pierce County Inmate Record Details
Pierce County publishes a roster entry rather than a clickable inmate profile. The inspected Saturday roster for June 27, 2026 showed a formal date range, the housed-at line, booking date and time, arresting agency, charges, status, bail, name, date of birth, custody status, release date and time when applicable, address, and a total-in-custody count. It did not show booking photos, booking numbers, pod or cell assignments, or court dates.

Pierce County Inmate Contact
Mail for Pierce County Jail inmates must include the inmate name, Pierce County Jail, 555 West Overlook Drive, P.O. Box 9, Ellsworth, WI 54011. Sender name and full return address are required. The jail information PDF says letters without a complete return address go back to the post office. Expletive pictures, personal checks, property, stamps, envelopes, and other contraband can be denied or returned.
Inmates have reasonable access to phones and kiosks. The jail PDF says calls cost 18 cents per minute up to 20 minutes, subject to change, and that inmates cannot make collect calls. Unlike many jails, the Pierce County source says inmates can receive incoming calls to the housing area, though staff typically will not relay messages unless the matter is deemed an emergency.
Pierce County Jail Funds
Deposits can be made at the jail lobby kiosk by cash or credit card, or through InmateCanteen online. The jail information PDF lists an $8.95 credit-card service fee per transaction. Bonds may be paid from inmate account funds, through the Clerk of Courts during business hours, or through GovPayNet/AllPaid. Credit-card bond payments through inmate account deposits have a $150 transaction limit and $500 daily maximum in the PDF, while GovPayNet card bonds have an 8 percent fee.
Bond is not the whole release answer. If the roster shows P.O. Hold, Hold Oth County, Hold Oth State, probation violation, extradition, sentenced status, or another agency hold, money alone may not release the person. Check the status line first, then call the jail for release eligibility when a hold appears.
Federal Pierce County Searches
The BOP locator is the correct path for federal prisoners, not local Pierce County jail inmates. BOP records cover federal inmates from 1982 to present and can be searched by name or federal number. Wisconsin's official BOP facility is FCI Oxford, which is not in Pierce County. A Pierce County arrest that becomes a federal case may move through federal court, U.S. Marshals custody, and later BOP records.
